Photography makes me see the world rather than just look at it.
Michelle’s job at Blue Pixel: Coordinates all projects and operations for our clients. Lead print designer and web coordinator.
She got her start as: A medical photographer for the Orthopedic Department at Massachusetts General Hospital. From videotaping surgeries in the operating rooms to photographing research in the labs or creating PowerPoint presentations for the doctors, she fell in love with the latest technologies and responding to ever changing deadlines. A self-professed science geek with a love for the arts, Michelle moved on to work for the Nuclear Energy Institute as a graphic designer, designing and hand coding its first public website in 1997. The following year, she led a team in the development and maintenance of an online design and ordering application that was sold to Kinkos Inc. and became kinkos.com.
Some favorite moments: Selling my first photo to The Associated Press and seeing it come off the wire (World Prodigy oil tanker runs aground off Newport, R.I., 1989), photographing in the operating room, green screen experience at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
She’s managed projects for: numerous Fortune 1000 companies, including Adobe, Best Buy, FedEx, Microsoft, Nikon, Sony and Walmart/Sam’s Club.
You may have seen her: but probably not. Ever so stealthy, Michelle prefers staying behind the scenes, making sure projects run smoothly and clients are happy.
Honors and Awards: USFSA Pre Gold Level Ice Dancer. PADI certified diver. We are more than award winning photographers ;-)
